P&G Pet Care is once again providing matching funds to help animal shelters in their Friends for Life network to bring a high quality humane education program to their communities.
For the last twelve years, P&G Pet Care/Iams has supported the Operation Outreach-USA literacy and humane education program in elementary schools. Operation Outreach-USA is an effective way to reach children with a “be kind to animals” message, since the program uses books about animals and the environment to foster a love of reading while teaching compassion and respect for pets, people, and all living things. And the children get to keep the books, so their families benefit as well.
For the second year, a portion of P&G’s annual grant to Operation Outreach-USA will be used to match funds that Friends for Life shelters raise, thus multiplying the number of children served in their communities.
Shelters view this as an opportunity to invest in future adopters, employees and donors, while meeting their mission to create a more humane community and animal-conscious citizens.
Friends for Life shelters were sent a mailing with details of this program. If you are affiliated with a P&G Friends for Life shelter, but did not receive the information, please click here and we will email it to you.
